Terms

A small, factual beta agreement.

Effective 23 August 2026

Fold is founding-beta software. You may use the downloadable app and default service for lawful private communication and public publishing, subject to these terms and the privacy notice.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the people you invite, the material you send or publish, keeping recovery material safe, and complying with law. Do not use Fold to abuse people, distribute malware, evade service limits, probe private networks, or disrupt the relay.

Public Pages

Only publish material you have the right to share. Public posts can be copied outside Fold. Fold does not promise moderation, ranking, reach, permanence, or deletion from other people's copies. The current public layer intentionally has no reporting or takedown workflow; use the support route for a legal issue concerning the operated service.

Beta availability

The service may change, pause, lose compatibility, or contain defects. Status and known limitations are published on the status and known-issues pages. Fold will not silently weaken an in-app trust receipt to preserve availability.

License and source

The Fold source is offered under AGPL-3.0-or-later; third-party components keep their own licenses. These service terms do not replace the software licenses or grant rights to Fold names and artwork beyond ordinary use of the app.

No warranty

To the extent permitted by law, Fold is provided without warranties and the service operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

Changes and contact

Material terms changes will be dated and called out in the changelog. Use support for questions.
